The progress of digital technologies effectively supports the transition in the Circular Economy by enabling all necessary information of a product’s life cycle to be displayed in its digital twin. The linking of digital technologies and their use in innovative business models require a database that allows all stakeholders in the value chain to gather information about the physical condition of products and their circularity potential.
Ässia Boukhatmi, Roger Nyffenegger and Stefan Groesser from the team of the industrial engineering department at the Berner Fachhochschule BFH , are working on a prototype to realize this idea in the context of CIRCUSOL and wrote an article for Spirit, the magazine of the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BUAS).
